<p>Now is the time to aggressively push to get cost into alignment with lower sales and earnings. The number one place to look is cost-of-goods-sold. Now is the time to contact every wholesale vendor currently selling <a href="http://openingadollarstore.com/">dollar store items</a> to your business. Push for concessions in pricing of merchandise and freight. Also explore other potential suppliers to see if they can provide some wholesale pricing relief.</p>
<p><strong>* Trim down inventory levels.</strong></p>

Carefully measure and consider shrinking the base shelf size by an inch or two. Do everything possible to add a row of fixtures, or even an extra grouping of displays.</p>
