No matter what type of business you are in, it is important that you recognize all of your competitors. It’s also important that you get to know them very well. You need to know what they sell, how they price items similar to those you carry, how customers are treated and so much more. By knowing this you can establish your plans to develop greater strength in each category. Your goal should be to outshine each competitor company in your local area.
Determine how you can best use your company’s strengths to overcome the strengths and overall performance of the competition you’ve found. How can you do even better? Possibly you’ll have an offsetting strength that offers even more to customers. If not, start working on plans to develop your business into the dynamo you planned for it to become.

Examine the marketplace to make sure new competitors haven’t found their way in without you knowing it. Continually modify your plans to grow your business into the leader of your local marketplace.
